The SingTel Cadet Scholarship Programme, offered in partnership with Singapore Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic, will focus on nurturing young talent in the areas of engineering, cybersecurity and customer experience.

SingTel has partnered with Singapore Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic to offer a diploma scholarship programme - the SingTel Cadet Scholarship Programme.

The scholarship programme, which starts this year, focuses on nurturing young talent in the areas of engineering, cybersecurity (SP's Diploma in Infocomm Security Managemet) and customer experience. A total of 90 scholarships, worth a total of more than S$2 million, will be available each year.

The scholarships will provide students with industry-relevant training as well as employment and progression opportunities. Scholars will also get the chance to undergo internships while undertaking their diploma course.

"It will give us more chances to learn and deepen our skills and also a chance to gain experience with them, which we do not really do so in schools," said Chua Yi Zhen (DISM Year-2), one of the students at Singapore Polytechnic. "We will have a clearer idea of which areas we will be more suitable for, and we prefer."
