DISM Students visit to Singtel's Advanced Security Operations Centre

On 27th October, DISM students had the rare opportunity to visit Singtel’s Advanced Security Operations Centre (ASOC) on 27 Oct 2015.

After the visit, 24 DISM students have applied for Singtel's Engineering Cadet Scholarship Programme. The Singtel Engineering Cadet Scholarship Programme is currently available to students from Singapore Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic, studying Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, Network Systems & Security and Engineering Science.

This scholarship programme is targeted at students who have the passion and drive to work in Singtel and contribute with their knowledge and skills to make the world a better place.

According to Singtel, "Singtel and FireEye co-invested in the setting up and jointly operations of ASOCs in Singapore and Sydney, Australia.

Cyber security professionals at these centres will continuously monitor, analyse and contain Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and malware on an around-the-clock basis.

The ASOCs will be integrated with Singtel’s Network Operations Centres to provide end-to-end visibility across corporate networks and Internet traffic.

These centres will also connect to FireEye’s global network of ASOCs and have access to FireEye Dynamic Threat Intelligence (DTI), a global network that connects FireEye threat prevention platforms to provide a real-time exchange of threat data. This provides enterprises with the latest intelligence on cyber attacks and enables FireEye to proactively recognise new threats and block attacks. "
