DISM - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

14 Sep 2010. Congratulations to the following individual who took and passed the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer (OCP) professional certification exam.

1) ANG MING YI

OCP Java SE 6 Programmer is a certification exam for programmers to demonstrate one's proficiency in the fundamentals of the Java programming language.

He is the first DISM student in his cohort to pass this professional certification.

Once again, well done, Ming Yi. We hope more students will follow in his footsteps to sign-up and sit for this professional certification exam.

Golden achievements

"NYAA Gold Award recipients from SP form largest group among polytechnics.

Thirty-four students and graduates from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) received the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Gold Award this year – the highest number among the polytechnics.

The NYAA programme aims to encourage youths between the ages of 14 and 25 to equip themselves with personal quality and skills and contribute to the community. There are five components to complete: Service; Adventurous Journey; Skill; Physical Recreation; and Residential Project.

The high number of top achievers can be attributed to SP’s active encouragement and support."

Among the recipients, 2 of them are from DISM, namely, Llewelyn Fun and Alvin Loo.
