"The spread of Internet connectivity has made cyber security more important than ever. Cybercrime now affects businesses of all sizes and across all sectors. . Recognising this, the Singapore government has launched several initiatives to combat cyber security threats. In mid-2013, the government unveiled its five-year National Cyber Security Masterplan to secure Singapore from any sort of cybercrime and develop the nation as a trusted infocomm hub by 2018.
Other efforts in line with this initiative are the launch of the country's first Cyber Security Academy by Singapore Polytechnic and of a Centre of Excellence by global cyber-security firm FireEye under a tie-up with the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA)."
